NEW RANGER PRODUCTS REVIEW With Robyn Wood

The Creativation 2018 trade show in the US saw the
release of a huge range of new products and new colourways of current products
- you are certain to have already noticed them filling the shelves of Bella
Paperie. This demo with Robyn Wood will concentrate on the new releases from
Ranger and we are sure you will learn something fresh to delight you.
With a cornucopia of colour, a splash of shimmer and a
dash of pattern play, the new Ranger products have something for everyone!
Robyn will be demoing the new colours of Distress Oxides – learn how they
differ from the Distress inks and discover some new colour combos that you will
love.
The brand-new Shimmer sprays from Dyan Reaveley will add
an extra dimension to the current colours of Dylusions sprays. Learn how to
create beautiful luminous effects that can be used in all types of papercraft
projects.
There is no surprise that Tim Holtz has finally released
new colours for the established Alcohol Inks. Come and discover new favourite
colours or learn from scratch how to use these mercurial inks. Robyn has been
using them since they were first released many years ago so has a huge array of
techniques and samples to share.
Where do we start with the collaboration of Dyan Reaveley
& Dina Wakley for the new Ranger Gel Press range? Goodness, such colourful
fun! Robyn is keen to share the delights of the Gel Press plate to you. It is
so easy to print unique papers for use on cards, layouts or journals and
handmade books and the new Ranger tools will make it even more enjoyable.

Come and join Donna Wannell for a free demonstration on
how to get the most out of your silicone moulds. She will share with you how
best to use different mediums and also creative ways to use your moulds, She
will also share with you how to use modeling paste, paper clay, hot glue , UTI
in your moulds and which medium works best in which mould. You will also learn
some tips for colouring.

Live in the moment…take time to notice the small details
of life. Creating multi-layered, textured backgrounds can become quite an
enjoyable, calming exercise in play. I’ll show you how to easily create
beautiful backgrounds in your art journal and then we will paint a pretty
butterfly in an impressionistic style. This class will focus on creating
background textures with a variety of materials and using clear crackle medium
for a subtle effect. If you already art
journal – bring along your usual kit, if not check the requirements list for a
guide on what to bring. You will need an approx. A4 sized journal to begin with
– please check in store for details. We would love to know where you are at
with mixed media so let Deb know when you book in – absolute beginners are very
welcome but the more experienced will find something to challenge them in each
class.

This month it’s is all about texture, texture, texture.
Great for Easter or all year round display…Paints, crackle paint, gesso, stamps
and stencils will all give this frame a well worn vintage feel to it. You will
add more texture to the eggs and get back to nature using specially hand picked
twigs! Feathers and some metal embellishments will finish off this project off
beautifully.

Mixed Media canvas, great sized project if you are
wanting to challenge yourself and create on a larger scale and learn new art
techniques . The workshop includes Gesso Relief , Stenciling, and Paper napkin
collage. We will also be using Texture and Embossing paste to create
accents for our design.

This month I have a very soft and delicate layout to
teach made with the Prima Zella Teal Collection and lots of gorgeous Prima
Flowers. The layout colours are pastel pinks, teals and yellows, it would be
perfect for girly or family photos. I have also added a quick card to this
class made from the leftovers of the kit.
Takeaway kits will be available with full step by step
instructions
Jan 26: Queen for a Day with Toni Burt
QUEEN FOR A DAY With Toni Burt $95
Sunday March 18th 10.00am – 2.30pm
This is a half day workshop in which you will create a
girl on canvas. This is a simple
mixture of collage, charcoal, acrylic paint, and some white soft pastel. This is a very simple girl to sketch with
minimal detail, perfect for beginner and intermediate levels, however it will
be useful if you have some drawing ability as this is a hand sketch, we do not
use stencils or stamps for the face. You will learn all the techniques for
collaging the girl and background, sketching with charcoal, and adding
squiggles and random details with the pastel and charcoal pencil. Toni will
provide the sheet music and book pages for your girls hair and face and you
will be required to bring a few items as detailed in the requirements list.
There will be a short break for lunch which will be provided. Please advise if
you have any medically diagnosed food allergies when booking.

Join Robyn for a Friday class and discover the wonderful
world of mixed media and art journaling. Over the coming months we will paint,
collage, ink and stencil to create meaningful journal pages using a variety of
materials and techniques and Robyn will guide you through each process.
Although this session is aimed at absolute beginners, the
more experienced will find something to challenge them in each class. You may
notice that we also run Sunday classes and each class will be unique unless
otherwise advertised.
If you already art journal – bring along your usual kit,
if not come along to this weekday class to learn what you might need to
purchase as the materials list is a brief guide. You will need an approx. A4
sized journal to begin with – please check in store for details or we can
provide a sheet of heavy watercolour paper to get you started.
For this first weekday class, I will bring along most of
the supplies to share but please bring what you have from the materials listed
to save time waiting. I have listed a kit of ‘basics’ that you will need to
bring to every class. As always, the listed supplies are available to purchase
from Bella Paperie either before or after class.
Class runs 10am to 2pm with a short break for lunch.
