Want to get lots of photos on a layout?  Want an interesting layout that has interactive elements that can be lifted, pulled or opened to reveal hidden areas? In this month’s class, we will create a double layout with space for 31 photos.  It has plenty of “openable” areas to showcase all your favourite photos.  This month I have used papers from the Lady Vagabond range from Stamperia. Take away kits with full emailed instructions are available.

Mixed media class with a torn "vintage wallpaper" background, making our vase with Rose Gold Texture and stencil. Using collaged paper leaves in the background and stencils for the floral arrangement. No hand painted flowers! Just techniques to embellish your stencils to look more natural. My grandmother always had a vase of flowers on the table, did yours? Come and add to your mixed media skills!

As artists we all need somewhere to store our brushes, and something to transport them around is great too. We make this one of a kind canister, plenty of room to personalise. We play with waxes and alcohol inks and use some everyday items to decorate, a definite must for the mixed media fan.

This book has a secret, it is not a book but a box, perfectly created to hide precious items and mysterious treasures. You will learn how to easily convert an old book into a box, and then decorate it with lots of resin and metals, creating a glorious aged background for the cover. We use some ordinary items in novel ways and learn lots of technique that you will use over and over again. A must for the mixed media fan.

This gift wallet could be used for any occasion. The design will be printed directly on the vellum to reduce time needed for tracing, so that you can concentrate of the parchment skills of embossing – freehand and on a grid, perforating through a grid and using a two needle tool and snips to create a shaped edge. A separate pocket is created on the inside of the card to hold a voucher or cash. The wallet is closed with a magnetic closure.

This pack of cards combines the amazing depiction & illustrations of Steampunk, which was inspired by 19th Century industrial steam powered technology with a refined slightly weird Sir Vagabond, a nomadic person who wanders from place to place. It is an extraordinary artistic combination designed by Antonis Tzanidakis from Stamperia which while is so original and wonderful it also verges on the ridiculous. I really enjoyed creating these cards and I am sure you will too.

Happy New Year everyone... looking forward to my first class for the year. I have enjoyed making this class using Stamperia “Lady Vagabond” collection and different mixed media techniques to create this A4 hard covered notebook. Using some Stamperia aqua colours and liquid acrylics from Finnabair you will create this leather look background, stenciled with pastes and then decorated using rice paper and chipboard that you magically turn into the rust effect. Leave it as a notebook or change it into a junk journal.
